Oh, what a fun weekend.
Friday night we drove up to New York to one of the Finger Lakes, where we stayed at Paul's condo (for those of you who don't know, Paul is a friend of Mark) right on one of the lakes. The first night was spent recooping from the drive and chatting - and listening to Mark's Hank Hill impression.
Saturday was the wine tour! We were a little late getting out, but it didn't matter. We still made it to most of the places on our list. I was disappointed with the Bully Hill winery tasting - it was too "college bar" for me - but we did buy a bottle of the wine. Our picnic/tailgate lunch was fun and it was where I got a good deal of my "artsy" pictures - oh, who am I kidding... I was attempting to be artsy with most of my pictures.
Whether or not I succeeded is up to you. Saturday night we played "Shout About the Movies" and watched "The Breakup." The movie was okay... I was a bit disappointed by it because everyone had really played it up. I give it a C+/B-... it really made Paul angry for some reason, but he watched it twice (once with most of us, the second time with Mark, because Mark fell asleep and went to bed halfway through), so it couldn't have been that bad.
Sunday we all got up and lazed around talking, had a great breakfast of sausage and gravy, then made our way home. We took the scenic route, which took us through Seneca Falls, NY, which is the home of Women's Suffrage (yes, I've seen that "Man Show" skit...), which is where the last few pictures are from. We were going to go to the museum, but it was $3, and we'd left our wallets in the car. We'd really only stopped so that Kim and I could get our pictures taken giving the thumbs-up sign at the historic landmark.
We also made one last wine stop at Montezuma's winery, which is where John and I bought most of our wine. It was definately the best stop on the tour. Such good Blueberry Wine... and Meade! Then the rest of the trip was sight-seeing. We went through the town of Aurora, NY, (I was looking for Ariel, NY, but didn't see it). Then we stopped at Whitney's Point ("Bobby! Look at that! *points* Bobby! Look at that! *points). Finally we ended up at Mark and Kim's house and helped Mark get his car towed before coming home and crashing hard.
So... who wants wine?
