>> Where do we post our completed fics? We will be hosting this on an official archive website! Details regarding posting will be issued at a later date, but it will involve authors e-mailing us at hcbigbang.mods@gmail.com their fanworks, fully and properly coded to LJ specification.
Can you explain what this means? 99% of the big bangs out there let you post your story on your own account, wherever you usually post stories. If I sign up, I'm going to post my story on my writing LJ. So I don't get why I would send my entire story with full coding to you guys, as if you're going to post it for me.
Okay, I did sign up but never really thought much about the posting rule until sailorhathor brought it up. Can we have the option not to send you a copy of the story, coded and all, and just host it on our own fic archive? I don't feel comfortable giving control of my story to someone else, especially something as long as 25K words or longer. I want to have full control of it so In case I decide to take it down in the (far) future for some important reason, I won't worry about having a trace of it left.
Sorry about the delay (it's been seriously crazy with work during the vacation season!). I understand if you don't want us to post this. It would be through a collection on AO3. If you wish to post it elsewhere, then I just ask for the header details and link to the doc/post to feature on the community then.
I have an AO3 account where I usually post long fics. I can post the story there myself and just link it to the challenge's collection. That's what I normally do with other BigBang challenges.
In fact, you won't need to collect the fics from authors who have AO3 account. They can simply post it to the collection themselves. In the page where they will post the new story, there's a field that says 'Post to Collections / Challenges' and they can simply enter the name of the collection or challenge.
Has the problem mentioned above been resolved? As clover71 said, AO3 users can post their fic to the challenge itself. It's pretty straightforward, and I imagine it'll save a lot of people quite a bit of hassle :D Whadduya say, mods?
