Chapter 30: The White Tomb

Jul 07, 2006 13:26

In which Hermione shows how she's NOT the cleverest witch of her age, Scrimgeour shows he can't count to two, and Harry is a selfish git. Again.

Spork! )

The bit that irked me in this chapter wasn't that he was even more self-centered, (because I'm cutting him a bit of slack because his mentor just died), it was this line:
There was so much he had never asked him, so much he should have said ...

Who thinks like that? Sure, those feelings, but that line could have come out of any bad Mills and Boon book as the Hero explains to the Heroine about his Father's tragic death at the hands of the Bad Guys who want to Thwart their Love.

...Got a bit shift-key happy there.

Gah yes, it was Cliche Heaven wasn't it? And emphasised the Harry-dore even more.

He'd never see those twinkly blue eyes twinkle at him every again, never hear that voice, never ruffle his fingers through that beard...

*giggles evilly*
