- Despite the cousin thing, I still see the Sirius/Tonks thing as being a better excuse then what JKR went with. I mean, Sirius dies and Tonks is fine. Remus says he doesn't love her and she has a mental breakdown. Um... Yeah

I feel like one of the few who loved the books. There was lots not there but there was also so much there. I thought all the stuff with relationships and history was awesome character development.
I loved this Harry. He's so much more grown up. He understands things on a different level. But he's still rebellious and a bit of a trouble maker.
I did despise the Slug Club. Unless something way more comes of it, it seemed pointless.
This probably is the only book I didn't dislike Harry in. He wasn't such a whiney snot this time 'round. He was way more cooperative with Dumbledore also, I think. But his curious lack of angst made me wonder if perhaps he was on Prozac, or something. Ha.

You don't like Harry? I don't want to start an srguement but how can you not like harry? The books are about him? And wouldn't you be angsty if you were an orphan who suffered emotional abuse until the age of 11 at which point you knew nothing but mortil peril and people trying to use you.
Eh. I think Harry's a snobby, whiney bitch. I know the books are ABOUT him, but that doesn't mean I have to sympathize with him whatsoever. I'm more interested in the over-all plot, and most of the secondary & OTHER main characters. And I'm not saying his angsty-emo-ness isn't well placed, I just think he's annoying about it. You can't expect EVERYONE to care that your parents died. And a lot of the mortal peril he's in, is because he places himself in outrageously stupid and unnecessary situations. Because he thinks that he's invincible or something.
Whatever, I just hate Harry Potter. He's a mediocre, thrill-seeking, revenge-obsessed twit that mistreats his closest friends and always inadvertently gets people killed.
Just to point out, they are all sixteen. Which is supposed to be the "dating" era, or whatever.
I was really disappointed with the Harry/Ginny ship. It was so predictable I felt like I was reading a really bad fanfiction. I think I've even read, She's Ron's sister! , before

I did like the whole, "I'm not worried, Harry." "I'm with you."
Though I feel a bit ripped off at that scene too. I'm a avid LotR fan too, and Frodo says the same thing to Sam, same principle anyways. Though I like how it's, "I'm with you ." And not, "You're with me." But it really set up his death well, so can't complain.
I love it because moment's earlier Harry says (about) the same thing to Hermione. "I'm not worried about me. I'll be with Dumbledore." Parallels make me giggle like a school girl. Plus, of course, the whole principals that Harry thinks so highly of Dumbledore and he returns that trust, showing that Harry has Albus's respect and that Albus has accepted that Harry can no longer learn more from him but has become his own wizard.
Of course, this was his coming of age story, pretty much, so it fits in wonderfully.
