I don't know why, but I keep having this sinking feeling that Dumbledore is a ployjuiced impostor. >.< It was that jam comment at the beginning and the ref to ployjuice missing with C&G. And now with the "do everything I say"... urk. Dumbledore is kinda creeping me out just a bit. It all seems a little sinister.

Then again, it would be a bit like reusing one of her old plots, and this book has been pretty fresh and interesting so far...

Voldemort is posing as Horace Slughorn to get Harry to join his 'club'. What he doesn't know is that it's not Harry he's teaching, but Cedric Diggory. In fact, Harry died by the end of book four and it was really Cedric who came back from the graveyard, because earlier in the maze they fell into a trap spelled to exchange their bodies. The trap was set by Severus Snape who, all this time, had an agenda of his own, of course. He wants the Dark Lord to trust him, so he is impersonating Bellatrix Lestrange who has a better standing with Voldemort. His sinister plan is to use Legilimency on him to find the places he hid the Horcruxes. However, what he's really after aren't the pieces of Tom Riddle's soul but the unbelievably valuable artifacts that are the base for the Horcruxes. He wants to sell them on the black market to get the funds to buy himself a small island somewhere in the middle of the Carribbean with absolutely so kids in at least a 100-miles radius. Of course, to sell the items, he'd have to destroy the pieces of Voldie's ( ... )

The "do everything I say" seemed sensible to me; Harry's given to heroics, and the threat in question is similar to one that could have killed Dumbledore if either he or Snape had been less talented wizards.
