Hmm. Slughorn gives Harry a new memory to replace the tampered-with one. This means that when he removed and tampered with the memory, a copy still remained in his brain, which contradicts the way Pensieves appeared to work in OotP, when Snape was removing memories from his head so that Harry couldn't see them.

Yes, but I've never quite understood that. I mean, people don't seem to just forget the memories they put in the pensives, or they wouldn't remember what was in there, would they? I've been wondering about that all through this book. For example, if Dumbledore's memories are in the pensive, how does he know what happens in them that connects them to the others? Very confused on the pensive thing. . .

I'm thinking you have 2 options: copy/paste, or drag, to use a cheap computer simile.
Might have a delete option also. :p "send to recycle bin" LOL

Well, the Recycle Bin thing would have to be Obliviate, right? It even works the same way - if you Obliviate too much, you end up with an empty C: drive, like poor Lockhart did ^^

By the way, does your icon connect Nochnoy Dozor to Terry Pratchhett'S Night Watch, or is it simply a translation? ^^

hehe

and it's just a simple translation.

Oh, oh well. ^^ Still, even though I've yet to read Nochnoy Dozor, it seems to have a similiar atmosphere to the Night Watch - I'm glad I noticed it, even though it was an accident. ^^;

Maybe he fabricated a memory to replace the incriminating one, to use when someone forced him to share it. Then he would have both in his mind.
