I'm going to make a wild half-assed prediction that Rufus Scrimgeour is a werewolf.

Do you think Remus has met him? He'd be able to tell if the man was a werewolf, right?

I don't know if he can tell or not, actually. I'm going on the name Rufus (reddish), the leonine description (beastlike?), the "scarred" description, and the importance of non-human creatures that appears to be a theme.

Maybe he is and the whole book is really a very covert crossover with WoD's Werewolf: The Apocalypse.

Does that mean that Umbridge isn't fully human, because she's often described as toadlike? Or do you think that's just a way to make her sound really unpleasant?

My wild half-assed prediction is that he's the heir of Gryffindor. So we'll see. :)
