Everyone is emerging from their caves!

Hello lovely LJ pals! It has been awfully quiet around here. Then, I take a step back for a day or two and suddenly everyone is here. I love it! I remain completely unexciting, but I wanted to chime in along with others.

First, I’m gearing up for fall, and I want to know your favorite fall things (because maybe I can steal them to become my ( Read more... )

Can I do spring? I am "upside down” here at the south hemisphere!

I like almost everything about autumn:

The garden of my house is tinged with ochre, there are several fruit trees loaded at that time: quince, plums, apples, persimmon. I love the winter schedule, when everyone goes to sleep earlier.

Loaded fruit trees sound amazing, but here in the city, that is not common. I like the idea of going to bed early for sure. But waking up and it is dark, then spending the entire day inside at work, and when I get off work it is once again dark … I just don’t deal well with that. Or the cold. Maybe someday I’ll move south. Until then, I’ll just complain :)

Just remember... the Bugs get Bigger the farther South you go... being near the Mexican Border now, I can attest to this truth. Plus my Dad brought me a grasshopper from Florida... my Teacher measured it, it was 5 inches long. Our little eastern / mid-west hoppers were No comparison. Hoppers, Spiders, and Snakes Oh MY! And I'm not referring to Slytherins either.

Omg, total deal breaker. I am the biggest wimp when it comes to bugs. Why is there no perfect place to live?!?!

Just remember, the cold kills bugs... Not to mention, the heat kills me, so I Miss the colder climes. Trade ya? I have tarantulas that climb up my outside home walls? Scorpions that are bigger than my adult son's hand, and the brown recluses are fairly reclusive... the rattlesnakes are ok, so long as you check before you open your doors?

I would gladly trade you in terms of temps. If I never saw another cold day I’d be thrilled. I don’t like snakes and scorpions, but I could deal with them. But spiders, any encounter, even with a tiny one will nearly kill me. Guess I’ll just stay where I am and continue to grumble about winter.

Both can come to Chile, we don't have such dangerous bugs, and we have a variety of climates to choose from ;D

I have had so little time and money to travel thus far. But someday, maybe when my kids are both adults, I will get to do a bit more. So, maybe some day. It would be lots of fun!

Children leave neither time nor money for travel. The day will come when they will be older and you will be able to travel. I've been lucky enough to travel for work, but I look forward to the day when I can travel with my husband on holiday.

I will complain about August, the ugliest, greyest and coldest month in these latitudes. It makes me so happy to leave it behind. :D

If you could send up a bit of cold and I could send down a bit of hot, we’d both be happy. Or with my luck, they’d meet in the middle and create a tornado.
