There I was upstairs, finally getting a moment to trim my fingernails, when the Tobster started barking downstairs. And he hardly ever barks.
So I ran downstairs, only to find him staring into the darkness of the unlit kitchen, tail straight as anything and him growling softly. And then he barked a few more times.
I went and turned on the lights, and no one was in the kitchen. But the dog just stood there, staring and peering into the kitchen. And he'd circle around, not going any further than the kitchen door.
I have to admit, it spooked me out quite a bit.
Wild thoughts ran through my head....a cat? An intruder? Or even something more other-worldly?
I crept gingerly to the kitchen window and peered out....nothing. I switched on the lights in the back garden....nothing.
Sigh.
So I turned round and started sweet-talking the dog....and pretty soon, his tail went a-wagging.
Leaving me wondering....so was there really something to have been alarmed about? Or did I just get tricked by the Tobster??
