I've never been one for decorating my environment and I also don't like desktop wallpapers on my computers preferring black or a dark solid colour. I recently (last year) got an explanation for some of the issues I have with my vision and processing of moving objects (or moving my head), it turns out these are linked to existing known about balance issues I have inside my ear. I think sometimes the plain environment and computer desktop and hatred of clutter is about giving my eyes and brain a rest.

If i was offered the chance to become hearing I wouldn't take it. I spend so much of my time with my hearing aid off, walking to work (or out in public in general when alone), while working on my own, while home alone, asleep etc and it is something very important to me. I would hate not to be able to turn noises off and cos I can't process noise which I can hear with hearing aids, turning it off is great.

One of my colleagues at work had to have a fight with the powers that be about decorating the room we use for autistic student mentoring and screening possible dyslexic students as they find that some students find too much visual stimulus difficult to "ignore" while doing stuff which when you're trying to focus is hard.

I also hate mess, which is laughable given how messy I can be and the state of my desk at home right now. I'm hoping my weekend home alone will give me time/space to help with that!
