Deceit recap
All in all, a supremely fun game to play in. Props to gower, jingsaw, and darkoni42 for writing/running it.
So, after reading my character sheet and figuring out that my dress was a plot device, I planned in advance and wore something that could be a separate outfit underneath. I never had to strip, though I did have to sing.
My Sisters song with kamianya? Classic.
Also, I was complimented on my voice, which bolstered my confidence quite a bit. jingsaw got a front row seat to the song I sang to my husband, the amazing zapf, in a Marilyn Monroe-way about my marital fidelity. xD
Oh, man! zapf! People came up to me after game and told me how much they'd enjoyed watching us interact. We were the best couple ever. When he was talking to The Voice, and some things about his past were revealed, we got into a "WHAT?!" fight. It consisted entirely of the word "What?!" at different volumes, tones, and intent and lasted a good few minutes. This was promptly followed by a "FINE!" fight, where we both fought to get the last angry "FINE!" in, even to the point of popping around corners.
By the middle of the game, I was actually loyal to my husband, having become much more interested in him now that he was evil. And he cast off his lover as well, preferring to be with the most beautiful woman in the world who just happened to be cool with him being evil. So we pretty much scrapped our plots to screw each other over and worked against everyone else.
I also had fun with juldea and shadowravyn, where we had this kind of bitch session about men and western culture. It was amazing.
Also, at a certain point in the game, every memeber of a spy faction was supposed to go out front and sing the spy song, which I missed when trying to figure out what to do with shadowravyn's... problem. So, when I was called out on my loyalty, I decided to show my boss, played by nyren, just how loyal I was. He was in love with juldea, who I'd spent time chatting with ("There's a secret spy in love with you, but it means a life of danger and excitement. I advise you to refuse." "Wait, what's bad about any of that?") and who was no longer speaking to him. After seeing how happy she was when elenuial serenaded the princess, I figured "It works once, it'll work twice," grabbed his lyric sheet, posed her dramatically, and sang "Whole New World" to her on the stairwell on nyren's behalf.
(elenuial didn't understand the whole "proxy" thing, though, and followed up our duet with the beginnings of "Kiss the Girl." xD)
I also got to witness kamianya perform an air guitar solo in full kimono, which was epic, and she (and the rest of the Japanese delegation) accused my ex-lover of having no honor. In front of my husband, no less! So the conversation went from "this man is an abomination!" to "You're not attracted to me anymore!" and the entire Japanese delegation looking slightly uncomfortable and asking if maybe they should leave. Though this did help me achieve one of my personal game goals, which was to break zapf at least a little.
Our conversation:
"You've certainly shown yourself to be more than capable of 'keeping yourself busy,' darling."
"You kept me cooped up in that castle! I was bored!"
"We're married! You're not supposed to-"
"You never paid any attention to me."
"I'm a duke! I'm busy and important!"
"So? I'm important!"
"I can't pay attention to you all the time!"
"So I find ways to act out and get your attention!"
"You did a good job of it!"
"I'm like a petulant puppy."
"Exactly."
"I need to be... disciplined."
"..."
"=D"
"...I think I need to go... over there."
So there was lots of that. And a lot of people defending my honor. And plotting and scheming and spy things. At one point, my husband pulled me aside to tell me that in ten minutes, we needed to be off the boat.
"Ten minutes?" I said.
"Ten minutes," he replied.
I sang one of my sexy seduction songs, grabbing him by his tie and face. He bit his lip. I grinned.
"Ten minutes?" he said.
"Ten minutes," I replied.
So we ran off to the nearest stateroom (sorry, English consulate!) before realizing that my chastity belt was still on. So we flung open the door and called for a GM. We gathered a crowd, just in time to tell jingsaw:
"We want to have sex, but we don't know if we can!"
"Yeah, do I need tools?"
Several people broke at this, but we ended up having to scavenge parts from the engine room, where our glorious steampunk sex was interrupted by a flaming mad (literally; she was on fire) Aunt Matilda, who chased us out. It was amazing.
Also, I ended up as the Scarab King by the end of game, through no machinations of my own. Also, I will be reviving my dead husband, whose victory song got him shot in true villain fashion.
And that's just what I remember. I'm sure there's more, but some things are meant to be shared by the players involved, not just an observer like me. I'm sure you'll see it on their journals. =)
