I was supposed to be doing word sprints today for my big bang fic. Instead I became mildly obsessed with
this piece of art done by the amazing
ria_oaks for the
ds_c6d_bigbang reverse mini-bang. And then I wrote a 3200 word Doctor Who/Due South crossover fic.
It's an F/K rewrite of Rose (with Fraser as the Doctor and Ray as Rose), rated PG (for cussing and hand-holding),

Also loved how Ray just starts introducing him as 'the Mountie' because a Mountie in Chicago makes somewhat more sense than a 'doctor' dressed as a Mountie with a pet wolf. XD XD And his explanation to the vendor that the Doctor's Canadian, and how that evidently explains everything. Heh.
Also lol at the obligatory 'it's bigger on the inside!', as well as how Fraser's tunic pockets can fit so much (maybe they're bigger on the inside, too??). And aww at the ending, and Ray realizing that all he has is a turtle. Maybe he can bring Turtle with him. :) I'm sure the Doctor wouldn't mind...
Anyway, thank you! This was a lot of fun. I knew finally drawing this for this challenge would be a good idea... I've had a plot bunny floating around in my head for ages that's based on the eps in s3 when the Doctor's human (my idea being that Fraser has had a strange locket for years but isn't quite sure why... until Ray accidentally opens it) but writing's not really my strong suit. So YAY for Doctor!Fraser! You're awesome. :)

I'm glad you liked the Mountie bit. It was either call him a Mountie and be done, or let him explain, "I first came to this galaxy on the trail of the killers of my whole planet..." and that seemed a little too flip for the sadness the Doctor carries around.
Glad you liked the vendor. Alien, Canadian, same diff... ;)
Of course his pockets are bigger on the inside! And I'd like to think Turtle goes with them.
Oooh, that's an awesome bunny. You should totally FEED THE BUNNY. Fraser would be so duty-bound to resume his Time Lord position, even though he misses being just a good man. And Ray, poor Ray! Would he be a companion already, suffering as he watches the Doctor pretend (or, alternately, gamely going along with the Doctor's "we're lovers" cover), or would he have met the Doctor as Fraser and be heart-broken to discover who he really is?

LOL at "I first came to this galaxy on the trail of the killers of my whole planet..." Yeah, it does seem a bit flip for the Doctor's pain, but it'd be pretty funny. ^^
Turtle has to go with him! And and Dief can keep each other company.
Heh, I wouldn't even know where to begin to write it... I'm not much of a writer usually, as I said. Sometimes I can write short-ish things that don't require much planning or plot, but this would be much more involved. And my thought was that Ray woulnd't know who Fraser is beforehand, though the other way could work too. Except, the way you desrcibe it makes it sound so sad. :( dS is my happy place!fandom and I don't know if I torture the boys that much. XD Well, as long as there's a happy ending... because at the end Ray could be all "I want an adventure!" and take off with Fraser, like in your fic. :)

Your Maple Syrup story was awesome - funny and sweet and very them. You should totally give the Who thing a try. I can tell you from first hand experience it's unbelievably fast to write when you already have an idea of the general structure and all your scenes and you just have to fill in character stuff. ;) dS is my happy fandom too, so I don't blame you for wanting to avoid the angst of Family of Blood. You could make it post-COTW and have Ray finds the watch in Fraser's cabin, and then Fraser could see just how big an adventure Ray really wants to have. *lures bunnies with nice yummy carrots*
