41: The Last Kashmiri Rose Barbara Cleverley (Kindle)

I am fairly sure this was recommended to me by a friend, but I forgot to ask her about it this evening. New detective and new setting for me, but I liked both very much. I loved seeing Colonial India written from an outsiders perspective. Very good plot too. Will look out for more in this series.

42: Periera Maintains Antonio Tabucci

Septembers book club choice, and I can't say I enjoyed it. I wasn't entirely sure what the point of the novel was, and it certainly could have been a novella. I felt no connection to any of the characters or at all bothered about the plot.

43: A Burnable Book Bruce Holsinger

Loved this. Excellent plot and characters, looking forward to more. Good mix of real events and the mystery - and very good atmospheric writing of C14th London.

44: The Mortal Instruments: City of Fallen Angels Cassandra Clare

I am really enjoying this series, and there was a great cliffhanger ending to this one.

45: The Last Word: Tales from the Tip of the Mother Tongue Ben Macintyre

Both funny and interesting. I learnt a lot, kept reading bits out to Mum (so she has started reading it now).

46: The Harper's Quine Pat Mcintosh

Another new detective and new setting for me, another series to read more of. Really enjoyed the Scottish setting of this one, as it makes things so different.

47: Union Street Pat Barker

October's book group choice. Very grim story/stories, but very compelling. I like the move through the ages of the women and the links between the characters. I borrowed this from the library, but I am going to buy the copy from a friend who didn't like it so much.

Other bookishness, I am now on goodreads.
