back from chicago

soooooo...back from chicago.

It was a bit wild...just taking off to an unknown city to see someone I hadn't seen in over a year. wild in the sense that eating jalapenos or running bare foot in the snow... not as in getting tatoos, riding a motor cycle without a helmet or ripping the tags off a pillow.

It was a general good time or sight seeing, 90 degree whether, good food and alcohol. However the most story worthy part of the trip was the getting there...go figure. So the tunnel..the big dig tunnel..yea for those who have no read the news, it collapsed. This tunnel made it easier to get from the south of boston to logan airport, now requiring that one must drive through Boston. After a botched effot at mass transit that is what we did. As we are crawling toward the airport and I am pretty sure I am not going to make my plane, Kristen calls and says my flight has been delayed.

good for me....but now invision all the people who are suppose to take that plane finding out it is broken and all tring to get different flights. I meanwhile check my luggage with some snooty lady, get a bagel and ice coffee and proceed to my gate.

Turns out they have to get a new plane...it would be there by 10:30. ARGH! One frantic scramble later and I give the one seat left on a earlier flight to a girl who looks to be 17, has to work in the morning and is in tears. Then I find out my luggage is on that flight. SHIT!

So I wait...and wait. Finally the plan comes in and we board around 11:00..all 11 of us. They put us in first class and start passing out alcohol like rum runners who are about to be caught. Turns out the plan we are in is also broken. So we all get up and move...followed by the drink cart and because we all just got upgraded to first class we get a meal. So around 12:00 we finally leave. I had the strongest rum and coke ever, ate mushroom stuffed pasta and got a unique view of a stary night over Detroit...of course at the time I thought is was chicago....nope another hour to chicago.

so at 2:00 I got into O'hare and but 2:30 Kristen had safely delivered my to her house where I passed out. THUNK

The return trip was uneventful except getting stopped in security because my strapless bra had too much metal in it.

So tomorrow I'll give you my review of pirates of the caribbean and update you on the sudden flow of vivid dreams I am having.

Cheers

PS: Chicago has some awsome pubs...I got strongbow and yorkshire pudding. SCORE
