Valentine's Day and beyond

ValDay was spent cleaning the Condo.

Yes, I clean every day and I love every minute of it.

But I digress...

I approached it like interval training--20 minutes for every leg of the cleaning.

20 min. for the kitchen, topsides.
20 min. for the den.
20 min. for dusting the topsides.
20 min. for the floors (vaccuming and mopping)
20 min. for the random decluttering.
20 min. for the laundry folding and putting away.

Two hours of solid cleaning and it was well spent!

THen DarlingQ came over, we went marketing, and he cooked me dinner: chicken with peaches and scallions, marinated in Dijon mustard and honey, served over wild rice. I cooked a side dish of asparagus tips and baked mini-chocolate cheesecake cupcakes for desert.

It was lovely and nice. Cuddling on the couch while watching movies was the night-ender.

Monday...no school for me! Spent the day running errands, visiting the Mom and helping at her house, and working on a gift for a special friend who is in a special way!! :)

Tuesday, though, made my day. As I was in my office conversing with 4 6th-graders on their projects, a front office student assistant comes to my office door, bearing a long, rectangular box, and says the words that were lovely to hear:

"Ms. Hayes, you got flowers!"

I, honestly, thought for a minute he was mistaken.

But he wasn't.

DarlingQ sent me a dozen roses with an accompanying note that was, just, darling.

The man is wonderful.

:)
