kim jongin was a college student, a part time worker at a coffee shop, the boyfriend of lee taemin.
kai was the man bursting with sex appeal, showing up at club sm every friday night at 11 pm sharp and the lover of do kyungsoo.
leading a double life and taking the very best of both worlds was easier than one would expect when you were as charming and convincing as jongin could be. and what started out as an innocent experiment after a fight with the man he’d loved for the better part of his days, became a weekly getaway.
“are you going again?” taemin asked every thursday, falling into jongin’s waiting arms and curling into the man that smelled like his favorite shampoo.
to the surprise of their parents and friends, their love and respect for each other was only growing, despite their youth and the years they had already spent together. they couldn’t stand being away from each other and were constantly searching for new ways to connect and nurture their relationship.
“you know i am, baby,” jongin said apologetically, running his hands through taemin’s hair just the way the man liked it.
“i’m meeting up with the guys, as usual, and we’ll catch a soccer match or something - joonmyun said it’s the season finales this weekend.”
playfully pouting, taemin traced the lines of jongin’s collarbones.
“you have to take me along with you one time.”
something snapped in jongin, but the man didn’t let it show, mind working overtime to think up an excuse. “you know i’d love to, the guys would like to meet you as well, but you’re always so busy... you should rest. wasn’t kibum-hyung saying something about coming over?”
with that, the subject was dropped. taemin agreed, starting another rant about how kibum’s always keeping him on his feet and doesn’t understand him as well as jongin does.
on the following evening, jongin shoved his duffle bag with an outfit for the club on the backseat of his car. taemin knew nothing of it, of course, thinking that it’s just stuff for staying overnight at joonmyun’s place.
after pressing a kiss to taemin’s lips - the latter clinging onto him in such a way that jongin almost dropped his plans and took his boyfriend back to the bedroom - jongin started his car and took off.
he arrived at the neighboring city in an hour, changing his clothes and gelling his hair up in a public bathroom since he no longer afforded taking a hotel room.
then, he headed to the club, parking his car in a short distance.
sm was packed with people as usual, the strobe lights casting shadows on people in various states of intoxication.
kyungsoo was at the bar, waiting for him as usual, dressed up in a pair of plain black skinnies and a silver jacket, his eyes as adorably wide as always when kai made his way over to him.
while jongin had an awkward sense of humor and was shy on occasions, kai was the exact opposite, overflowing with charisma and confidence.
“hey, babe, someone’s looking sexy tonight,” kai whistled low in his throat, smirking as a bright flush rose up to kyungsoo’s cheeks. “‘can’t wait to get you out of those pants, jesus.”
“how have you been this week?” kyungsoo asked earnestly, slightly dazed after kai kissed him thoroughly as a greeting.
“been good. working on a new project so i barely have time to breathe. i think about you all the time, though,” kai lied through his teeth.
“oh?”
“yeah. in fact,” he wound his arms around kyungsoo, lips brushing against the shell of his ear, “i’ve been really frustrated... so. i know how much you love dancing, but how about we, uh, go outside for a while?”
kyungsoo was cute, a lot more dependant than taemin was. it got kai so hard when kyungsoo hung to his every word and gave his all to please him.
“sure.”
they didn’t return to the club.
a counted number of hours later, jongin zipped up his jacket, opening all the car windows on his way home to get the smell of sex out of the seats. there was a bitterness in his mouth as he recalled the expression on kyungsoo’s face when kai left - the longing, the hope, the timid “see you next week?”
only the thought of taemin waiting for him, possibly with a homemade meal (which happened after kibum’s visits) and a welcoming smile lessened the ache.
after being trapped in this cycle for months, he could hardly feel guilty for his lies.
in fact, it actually made him feel powerful, having the unconditioned love of two amazing people and getting away with it unscathed.
