Finaly, another poem.

Apr 23, 2004 15:23

Photo found of long ago.
I was six.
Hair still lightly curled from the perm I had begged for.
Knee socks, Mary Janes, horn rimed glasses
Who let me pick those out?
Happy child, safe and loved
Surrounded by friends and caretakers
I show the picture to the woman who was holding me
She smiles, laughs, relates the story of that day
So long ago for me, a clear memory to her
The joy so apparent in her voice
Brings tears to my eyes.
I feel treasured.
Special.
Loved.
