First of all, happy birthday
hellziggy This is a very important date in the calendar for me. My ex-husband's birthday, my parents wedding anniversary and my brother's wedding anniversary. Not to mention the Battle of the Boyne. No, really, I shouldn't mention it!!
I finally get the chance to sit down and write about TT20 but I'll put it under a cut so that I won't bore everybody.
Friday night - Arrived a bit earlier than planned and sat in Swiss Chalet for an hour before going in to register. Listening to other con attendees who were grabbing a bite at Swiss Chalet was interesting and in some cases, scary. Some people take their fandom just a bit too seriously. Anywhoo, on to the first panel, which was a season 2 review of Lost. It was brilliant.
thebitterguy said it was all about magnets but I don't think that Mrs Bitterguy agreed! It was a fascinating panel and enjoyed by all. Went to another one after that but can't remember what it was. Met up with a fellow Buffy fan who was a newbie to TT and went to Swiss Chalet again with her and some Browncoats. Had a beer, felt good. We all went to the Whose Stake is it Anyway? panel and had much fun laughing at people doing improv. Then it was time for the Once More With Feeling singalong. Didn't even have to look at the words, what does that tell you??
Saturday - Newbie's husband was kind enough to pick me up and saved much cash on taxi fares. Next year I'm staying in the hotel! Met up with non LJ friend and spent the day buying stuff, going to panels and meeting Jewel Staite, (what a cutie!), Amber Benson and Adam Busch. Loved Adam's song. I must get that CD. I wanted to go to the masquerade but friend didn't want to go even although newbie was dressed as a Sunnydale Cheerleader and
thebitterguy was co-hosting. Went to more panels and felt really tired. The Whedonverse Geek off was fun. Next year I'm staying in the hotel!
Sunday - A later start thank God! Went to Garrett Wang's Q&A. Oh my God, laughed my ass off. Fart wars, tape ball fights, socks down the front of body suits. The Voyager set sounds like much fun. His impersonation of Sulu was excellent. Amber and Adam together were very sweet. Went to
redeem147's panel on Whedon's alumni and it was very informative. It's nice to hear what the folks are up to. Last but not least, Things that made you go oooooh from Serenity was a great panel and a wonderful way to round off the weekend.
Yet again, I bought too much stuff, but got one of the last cards I was looking for, for my Spike collection and got a great deal on 12" Oz. Now I have to start saving for SFX.
