The school had the "fall festival" today, which is nice because the parents come and take the kids around so I just get to watch and shmooz a little.
Then after the kids go back inside the teachers sneak out one by one and get to jump around in the inflatable ball pit.
it was lots of fun. my boss enjoyed throwing balls at us.
reminded me of the out and about week when QSA set up a bouncy castle and charged a same sex kiss to get in.
i feel strongly that there should be at least one day a year when grown ups get bouncy castles and/ or ball pits.
then at lunch i got to sit next to a 4 year old in a very thoughtful mood. He wanted to know why everybody yells and who leaves stems in canned grapes and lots of other interesting questions.
when he went to clear his table he wished me good luck!
then my coworker brought in her daughter and her 6 week old grandbaby Dathan.
I got to hold him and feeds him and burps him and console him through the hiccups. He has so much beautiful hair and smelled very good.
the one downside of today (other than the fact that the ballpit does tire you out a bit!) was when I was shmoozing a new parent and she told me that she was so happy with the care here that if it continues she wants to have another baby. from a professional standpoint i guess that is a good comment. But i can't help feeling guilty for overpopulation. she is already on her third!
