A bit of a do

It is very strange to go to a party for a workplace that made me redundant 6 months ago.

I didn't realise it but one of the other wives at our table was in the same boat too, only from longer ago. Hmm.

It was quite a good do as such things go, much anxiety and self esteem issues to overcome, but I wore a dress, and makeup! An actual dress, not a skirt even. One that glittered, and not only fit, but flattered * - the only thing was, some-one else was wearing the same one, which apparently is bad!

The food was dire - for everyone, not just the awkward sods like us - and there was a 'Top Gear' theme going on, complete with a couple of skimpily dressed women that seemed to be some kind of group prostitute escort for the night. But after a few free drinks I did beat my husband the biker on the motorbike race simulator, and there was dancing.

The are more entries to be made, but I have to go and have my head shrunk, and then go and fill it up again at my evening course.

* dresses do not seem to normally be made to fit curves, and wearing tents really do not flatter me. In this case not every thing was where the designers intended, but it worked anyway for once. :-)
