hazel's unstable system

so i rebuilt my computer only less than a year ago. New gigabyte nforce 3 board with lotsa cool features and new amd 3400+ clawhammer core cpu, new ram new powersupply and case ect...

lately for some reason i've had mad overheating issues. It will be okay for about a week and then it just has a total meltdown.
I was suspicious of the new bios i had updated about 2 months ago, since i had never had this problem before ever. Also it was having a problem with my ram chip. My RAM was fine, i knew this, we had tried each stick singularly and it seemed to work fine, but with both chips in it would give annoying errors.

Luckily jim was nice enough to help me with this problem. we reseated the CPU AGAIN, and managed to get into bios with only one ram chip installed. this morning we down-graded my bios to a far older version. Obviously since i had never had these problem with the original bios, jim was suspicious that the new bios may have been putting too much voltage to the CPU causing it to eventually overheat like that. So rolling back from version 11 to version 4....

i hope this really fixes this overheating problem. I forgot how dependant i am on my system. Especially with the online course i am taking this semester and all my electronic club e-mails that keep me focused on my duties as secretary. I had a back up computer, but for some horrible reason last night it was giving errors posting. >.< i have been having horrible luck with computers. i try not to touch them at work, i'm scared my bad-computer-karma will leak out into customers systems.

lets all keep our fingers crossed for the hazel. if it happens again, im just going to buy a new MOBO. because i can't constantly be dealing with this problem. and probably investing in a better heatsink. its too frustrating, its the last thing i need right now. damn computer dependancy!
