My great Aunt Irene passed away monday morning, it may have been sunday night but didn't receive a call until Monday morning. She was my mom's godmother and my grandpa's sister (the one that passed away last year). She was defintely one of my favorites. We have a really big family and she actually remembered my name whenever I saw her. I think she was my grandpa's favorite too. I remember she showed me a picture of her and him at the lunch after his funeral. He was in his army uniform and she was just a little girl and they were standing in front of the farm house at the end of Byron St.
I remember when my grandpa died and I left an entry on here about the dream I had shortly after he died when he told me not to worry and he talks to my grandma...
Well the morning my Aunt Irene passed my mom's cousin Gloria had the dream I guess. In her dream my grandpa was standing there with his blue suit on and had a big smile on his face. She said aunt irene must have come in time for his birthday(which is also my birthday)
Then later she drove by my Aunt Teresa's house (she is my grandpas other sister, there is only her and my uncle eddie left from 10 kids in the family) and aunt teresa has bird feeders and bird baths so there are birds in her yard naturally. Anyways, Gloria drove by and saw eight birds on one side of the telephone line and two on the other...symbolism...
I thought it was very touching. All this talk about great aunts dying and dreams makes me so sad and scared for the day i am my moms age and my aunts and uncles pass...its such an awful thing to think about but with times like this i cant really help it.
