(no subject)
Whoa. Quite a length of time has passed since my last update. I guess it was because I was so busy becoming a MASTER. I'm so friggin excited to be done and I feel like all my hard work has paid off. Plus, now everyone can refer to me as Mistress, and it won't even be creepy.
So I got my Masters, but I still need to do a semester of student teaching to get my license. I have orientation tomorrow and start on Tuesday, but the kids' first day of school isn't until September 7 or something like that. I just finished printing out all the Kindergarten SOLs and researching my school and making copies of all the forms I'm going to need. I have everything except a lunch box. I'm surprisingly more excited about this than I thought I'd be. :]
Not much else has been going on lately. Went up to Maine with Rogers for a week, which was superrrrr fun. We had some real nice weather and we enjoyed being at camp. We had to come back for Heather's wedding at the beginning of August, but it was worth it. Got to hang out with Mary and Sandra and see people actually dance down the aisle in real life. Amazing. I ended up flying back up to Maine a little while after Rogers went home so I could be there for my gramma's surgery and help my mom drive all the way home. My gramma is doing well now, I got to kayak a whole lot more, and my mom and I had a great drive down to VA so it worked out perfectly. :] My mom and I did 11 geocaches on the way home, one in every state we passed through. We're a little addicted, but it's really been helping me get outside and exercise some more. Plus it's super fun.
Not much else to report. Rogers and I are doing fantastic. :D Potato is also wonderful - he became a real camp dog up in Maine and he even loves to ride in the kayak now! The parents are good too - my dad is going to retire sometime around October. Thank goodness I'm moving out a few months later! He's going to drive everyone nuts.
My birthday is next weekend. Don't really have any plans yet. Rogers brought me a hookah from Turkey. I already have some tobacco so I'm hoping I can find some coals for it soon so we can get some people together to try it out. Other than that, I might go see Teresa's play and go out to a bar in DC or something if people are free. We shall see.
Better go do something productive now. Rogers wants to skype tonight - I'm going to be so glad when this long distance thing is over!!!
