Two nights ago I made a birthday promise to update my livejournal again. This is an update.
What's new? New episodes of Law & Order: CI have been on which is great, great, great. Detective Goren will always be my favorite, even if he gets fat. But the new lady detective, Falachi, is just great.
Tyler is 21 now, which is great, and I'm glad he decided to wake up from his birthday nap on Tuesday and go out, out, out!!! Happy birthday!!!
SO, apparently, there was a woman stabbed in north Lincoln Park in the 2700 block of Stockton last Friday night. That is like, a block from where I live. She was a doctor at St. Joseph's and was found with one stab wound with the knife still inside. There was no sign of struggle or assault and they're not sure if it was a murder or a suicide yet... creepy!!! Totally creepy. I mean, I don't walk around in the park at night by myself, or even with other people most of the time, but really, scary!!! I carry mace with me most of the time. I have a Swiss Army knife but it would be a little complicated to like, whip out, since I always have a hard time flipping out the tools. Ha ha ha, that would look a little stupid. Anyway, for everybody: STAY OUT OF THE PARK AT NIGHT. STAY OUT. NO TRESPASS. STAY THE EFF OUT. STAY HOME AND PROTECT YOUR FAMILY.
What else is new? I can't think of much. Tonight my roommate's boyfriend wants to come over to our house and watch Schindler's List. This is his idea of a Thirsty Thursday. Yeah, after a hard week of class and research papers I'm totally in the mood for something depressing and German. Not. I will never understand Matt Halek. Never.
I've been really into Billy Joel lately. My new favorite song is Allentown. It used to be Uptown Girl, but now it's definitely Allentown, with The Stranger and Still Rock n Roll To Me tied for second place. You know what else I like? Elliott Smith, but I feel like sometimes listening to Elliott Smith makes me think about things that make one sad. Like, oh let's remember this old boyfriend who doesn't like you anymore because you might have led him on even though you didn't mean to. No, no let's not. So I think now Elliott Smith is going to have to be delegated to the Joni Mitchell and Regina Spektor Soviet Kitsch (except for "Us") section of my ipod for music for people who want to feel sorry for themselves. On the other hand......
Michael Jackson music is great!!! I love Michael Jackson at all times of day. I guess it follows that if you are going to put out some of the best most awesome dance music ever some other areas of your life are going to be seriously lacking.
Tomorrow night my friend Bianca is having a surprise party for her friend Spencer, who is turning some birthday!!! If you want to come, give me a call, for birthdays, the more the merrier!!! Happy Birthday again Tyler, I hope this year heralds in a whole new era of heavy drinking and good jokes!!!
