In the middle of writing, I just got a mental image of Miranda eating a kebab, bitching the entire time about being forced to eat it, so I couldn't leave it out...
I loved Emily getting mad over the phone about the food; loved the twins' reunion with Andy, and the image of Miranda warmly thinking about her daughters one minute and eating food off a stick in the middle of the street in the next is just awesome. Somehow, the parting image of Miranda in her element and enjoying it makes me all warm and fuzzy inside.
Thanks! Yeah, the opening bit with Emily in particular was very easy and fun to write. And I could easily imagine Andy knowing Emily well enough to want to poke fun at her eating habits.
"I make mistakes daily, Andrea," Miranda responded. "The trick is in making certain no one else notices them."
Andy hated to admit it, but it wasn't bad advice. "That only works for small things, though," she said.
"You'd be surprised what the correct tone can do to convince someone," Miranda replied. Andy could hear the smile in her voice and marveled at the revelation.
-I could not possibly agree with Miranda more!-
"I've thought you were foolish, stupid, and incompetent, but I've never actually hated you."
-This line had me LMAOF; this so true Miranda. She is truly oblivious of how her directness may strike others. Luckily Andy is sort of immune to it ;)-
You have done a wonderful job to show the characters build a friendship and I cannot help but to read them as "dating". The banter is deliciously fun and easy going. I am looking forward to read your 3rd and last installment.
I'm glad you thought of this as them 'dating.' I wanted to transition them into an easier friendship but still keep some sexual-type tension in there, so 'dating' is pretty much exactly what I was shooting for. Thanks!
