PLANES, TRAINS, & AUTOMOB-well, Harlem
Ventured back to NYC this weekend...
Saturday:
-Got to LGA (La Guardia..airport)
-Was stood up by the guy that was supposed to pick me up
-Took the bus through Queens to the Mexican Town type area to the train
-Saw Apt. #1 in Brooklyn (Bed/Stuy (Bedford/Stuyvesant~where Notorious B.I.G. was from, actually) white girl-did Americorps too, coincidentally)
-Received weird, grimming, & loving looks while walking down the street back to the train
-Checked into the International Youth Hostel on the Upper West Side of Manhattan (W 88/Central Park West)
-Found out one of the employees at the Hostel knows my brother
-Met Australians at the hostel. Slept.
Sunday:
-Hung with the Aussies~they wanted to go to the Empire State Building~went along
-Found out a man jumped off the building a day or 2 before~can't figure out how~but that's...ugh...especially seeing just how high up it is..& thinking if it's you---you're still alive when you're falling all that way. ah shit.
-To Times Square with the Aussies~then they left
-Met up with 3 Mosaic's in Times Square. Hung for a while. Went home.
Monday:
-Met the 2 boys (Anthony~20, Larry~17~who's in a music video & other ads you may have seen/will see him in & happens to be from Monroe) who I was trying to get as roommates
-Saw Apt. #2 with them in Harlem (Spanish~118/3rd Ave.)(Brand new-people are just now moving in)
-Went Downtown with Larry, met his cousin at her work who would be the other roommate (Amanda~20, from Monroe too)...walked by an over-hang to a doorway that was being repaired, which may or may not be where the Empire State Building Jumper Man crashed into.
-Met Larry & Amanda later on the UES (Upper East Side) for dinner & to talk about apt. stuff~the other girl (Amanda also~20) who lives with them now will probably be living with us for a while too...but that will help with rent, so it's cool.
-All my Americorps friends were preoccupied, didn't get to see them, so back to the Hostel.
Tuesday:
-Checked out
-Got on the bus to airport which made me sick
-Came home

I'll be living with these kiddos in Harlem (Spanish) on 118th St./3rd Ave. NY, NY. They're all really cool. Have to be there by Dec. 30. Huge 2 bedroom (1 REALLY big one with a HUGE closet/1 med. size with a normal closet), decent-sized bathroom, huge living room, 2 common closests, nice kitchen with a 4 burner gas stove, huge fridge with a top freezer, microwave, & a dishwasher (unheard of!!!). Not just the apartments are BRAND NEW, but the whole building is BRAND NEW!!! Laundry in the basement, community room (to have for parties or whatever), big storage room, & a really nice backyard patio area!!! It's all only $1600/month & only have to pay for electric. So with 4 of us that's only $400 + our electric, or if we have the 5 of us, only $320 + our electric! AWESOME!
Who's gona come see me in my sweet SPANISH HARLEM abode?!!?!
