Quick update:
I'm doing well, but getting really tired. Because the apartment Leif and I are in now is a summer sublet, we're pretty much living out of boxes, because no one wants to do the packing thing twice. It's a good idea, but a little bit depressing at times.
I don't know whether I've ever read this much German literature in this short a time period. Occassionally I feel quite good about it. Sometimes I just want to bang my head against the wall. When all is said and done, however, I think I'm going to be very proud of having done two 50-books. Everyone still seems to think that it's the best plan for me. And I CAN so... I WILL. No really, I'm proud of myself about this - it's just tiring.
Leif is stressing out about this translating job he has. It's not going as quickly as he would like it to, and the book itself is apparently kind of boring. So... that's not super good either, but he'll make it through, I think.
We're also managing to make summer in Philly fun. A number of our friends are around and we've done a good bit of hanging out and drinking (the important things in life). And last night we went down to Penn's Landing and saw an amateur theater troupe perform excerpts from the HMS Pinafore on the tall ship Gazela. It was actually really neat. They had all these ridiculous period costumes and were over-singing and it warm and sunny out and all was well.
Also! Leif and I are still on our training schedule for the half-marathon. This is miraculous. Also, we've gained a running buddy, Emily, and it seems we're going to have a little team for the event. I am pleased.
