Last night:Saw Tim Minchin, was utterly wowed and laughed until I cryed.
Got a little stroppy at stupid middle aged women, their ability to bash into my bag
and their lack of desire to observe correct personal space protocols.
Purchased a ten dollar canvas bag (*sings loudly*CANVAS BAG!)
and waited in line for Mr Minchin to sign said bag.
Overheard the teenager infront of me mention that Tim's old music teacher was now his music teacher
and that he said to say hi.Tim gushed at the boy say
"oh, he was a lovely man...have you got something for me to write him a note on?" He commented that he wished he'd listened more and been a better student as he wrote the teacher a note on the back of a ticket envelope.
When it was then my turn for signing I commented in passing how lovely it was that he'd written the note because;
" My students usually just draw penis'!"
Tim laughed as he drew wings and a halo on the photo of himself on the canvas bag.
He commented that he would expect nothing less from students of today and said what a sad day it will be when they don't.
He's did add that if I was his teacher ,he wouldn't draw penis' all over his work..
"Oh wait... we might as well!"...as he drew one underneath his signature.
When I laughed he gave me a big smile.
I love Tim, he's such good value:)
Today: Reward excursion for the year 8's.
Any year eights that hadn't been toe-rags for last term had the opportunity to
spend the day bowling and rollerskating, and as a year eight Care Group leader I got to go too:)
It was awesome fun! I came second in the teacher bowling tournament, twice. I took photos of the kids having fun and the teachers letting their hair down. I couldn't skate because of my back, I danced with some of the fat-pants ravers instead.
Great bonding experience and such lovely, lovely kids! Some of my girls I could just eat they're that sweet and innocent!
Apparently the ones who were left at school were not so agreeable with 15 suspensions in one day! I am so glad I wasn't there!
I'm tired now, but somehow I've been talked into seeing Wolverine at 9.30.
*sigh* on the weekend I will sleep!
