I think the two brothers cuddling like this has to be pretty much canon... there's some descriptions of Dean always winding up curled around Sammy to protect him after the fire -- though I can't remember where that is.
I really love your idea of John yelling at Sam to sleep in his own bed.... that is a pretty mean thing to do to a kid who literally has no one else but Dean to turn to... my ten year old boy totally still needs a good solid cuddle every day, which, if it reassures his feeling of unconditional love, is absolutely fine by me -- but the only one who loves Sammy like that, is Dean -- John's love is probably there, but it's buried under so many other layers that you really see the roots of their enmity in this type of scene.
Poor Sammy, when Dean shoved him out of bed.... yet, Sam is the really intellectual one... he is just about this age in the high school episode, so I bet he actually completely gets what was running through Dean's mind.... what do you think?

Yes, I always thought it could be canon as well. And those descriptions, are they like, legit from the show? 'Cause that would be awesome.
Thank you. Sam and John's relationship always reminded me of mine and my father's relationship, and so I really just based his reaction on how I would picture my father reacting to something like that, and I'm glad you liked it. I was worried that people would think I made him too harsh. My ten year old sister is the same way, and I think any child needs that from time to time, just that Sam and Dean's situation is a little intensified.
That's a good point, about Sam probably realizing what Dean's thinking. While I wrote it, I never thought of that, but Sam is pretty smart, and he could have probably figured it out. And I think they are this age in the high school episode, but in my mind when I picture Sam and Dean at those ages, I can never picture them as the actors who portrayed them in that episode.
