So, Flist! I've been pretty bored, lately... and some new games would fix that! I'm going to make a list of all of the games I have. It's not much, but looking at them would you guys be able to look through them and then tell me more games that I might like, judging on what I've played? I only have a DS, PS2 and Gamecube right now, but I'm saving ( Read more... )

I don't know your feelings on strategy-RPGs, but Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance is one of my favorite things to hit the GameCube. The sequel, Radiant Dawn, is on the Wii but I should note that it is balls to the wall hard.

My other favorite Cube game is Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem. I normally don't really like the survival horror genre at all, but even I love ED.

Over in PS2 land: it looks like you like RPGs! The Shadow Hearts games are pretty fun, if you can find them. They're kind of hilarious in how much they play fast and loose with history, but it's in a very awesome and lulzy way so I happily forgive it. Ar Tonelico is kind of my....guilty pleasure, but the series gets increasingly more fanservicey so if you have anyone around who will go B| at skanky anime outfits or girls taking baths together, you may want to skip them. Grandia II is one of my favorite RPGs ever, although the PS2 port is a little clunky at times, and last I saw it could be had for pretty cheap.

Most of the other RPGs I am eyeing on my shelf are very love-it-or-hate-it affairs, though, so I'm reluctant to suggest them.

Oh! Katamari Damacy and We ♥ Katamari are both on PS2. Deliciously quirky fun that everyone should try at least once.

On the DS, most of the games I loved the most are, again, pretty love-it-or-hate-it. But if you're okay with strategy-RPGs, Devil Survivor was pretty fun, IMO. (Though depending on your perspective, the bossfights may be ragequit-inducing -- I didn't feel this way but it's a complaint I've seen fairly often.)

And if you like random puzzles and charming accents, the Professor Layton games are adorable. I could listen to Layton talk for hours.

I've been told about Layton! I keep thinking about getting it when I'm out, but then I never do...

Ar Tonelico, too! I'm fine with fanservice so long as it isn't, like... Highschool of the dead/Catherine level fanservice. I'm just not the best with turn-based battling.

Ar Tonelico is like....the first game is turn-based and super-easy. I'm still not far in the second one, I've been lazy, so I don't think I have a good Definitive Opinion on the difficulty level. But in the second one there are some timed button presses to defend against hits and stuff.

And apparently by the third one they've moved on to TAKE CLOTHES OFF TO POWER UP. I have to wonder if that's why it still hasn't been released out here.
