Foam! - March of the Red Giraffes and Getting Ready for Godskitchen

Jul 24, 2003 23:53

Been a while.

Somehow, during this summer, I've grown out of the need of having the internet available. Hence to irregular entries. Good for a chance, I reckon.

Couple of weeks ago we - that's me, Raisa and Krisse - went to a foam party at Leicester Square's club Hippodrome. The event was mainstream eurodance music performed with style while the crowd was dancing and getting all soaked with the foam being shot from a foam cannon on the ceiling. Also the cute asian girls are always at this club. Want to do it again:D

My cousin Lauri and his girlfriend Anna spent last weekend in London after a week in Manchester. Friday night we went to Mile End Park in East London to watch the March of the Red Giraffes accompanied by some opera singing clowns and pyrotechics. The performance was by a French contemporary dance group and was as absurd you could expect. I think the good old pink elephants scene had had some influence on the show.

Raisa's boyfriend Jarkko arrived to London last Saturday to share the flat with us since the couple couldn't live apart. They're cute. Jarkko got almost immediately a job refurbishing a hotel somewhere nearby. Raisa has also steered her career - she is now a part time receptionist in a Bayswater hotel. Krisse is leaving 30th of this month, which is less than a weeks time. He's going to enjoy the Finnish sun, see his friends and finish his schoolwork. He been a good mate to spend the summer with. Noora is planning to fill Krisse's position in our flat for couple of weeks before her school begins in Savonlinna. We're all welcoming her.

I'm quite well used to my role as a salesman and laptop pusher and enjoying it big time. Somehow I've written so little of it on this journal. There would be stories to tell as the Queensway Market is really a weird place with crazy people going around every day. Can't really be bored there. Also my financial worries should be over for life, in a way at least. It seems that I've got a skill in sales so if I ever need some money, I can always take a sales job and do alright with that. That's not something I really plan as a permanent profession, but it's still useful as an opportunity.

And now to the present -

The weekend is landing in less than 24 hours! We're heading to Godskitchen Global Gathering to Stratford-Upon-Avon, a huge techno dance festival with 40000 clubbers from all over UK. Got to get my clubbing gear ready and glowsticks at hand. There's a group of six of us going, all braced for partying 16 hours straight! A report will follow on this site:D
