my new boss

So LJ may not be the best place for this,..... but what the hell....

my new boss is a little bit of a ..... not good person? He's a nice guy but he's british and like get's away with a lot more than he should be able to... it gives him this charm and air of greatness and such.. like he can maybe get away with things he shouldn't be able to...

So anyway he treats me pretty poorly, and the workers know it... so they're starting to warm up to me as they realize... I am not in cahoots with the boss... maybe the fact that I roll my eyes every time his name is mentioned or they ask about my schedule is a good giveaway..

So today he decides he's gonna try and make me feel important... he tells me i am allowed to be in on all top secret information, and then he tells me that as i go around the rotations, i should challenege each worker and position and keep track of what and how they are doing... like if they are doing something they shouldn't be, or slacking off or could be doing better etc etc... and so i should come to him... and tell him... and write it up as a document and it will be special for me and him only...

well i am not there to tattle tale....i am not there to get the workers into trouble... i am there to learn how it works and see the best way to help improve the place... and i don't think calling the workers out on things is it... the workers all hate their job... and just do it because they can and it's easy for them, and they're used to it. so i want to increase their morale and care for the patients... i feel that through that the place can improve... little theory...

so i told my boss "well i noticed that your protocalls for allergies and intolerances are off, and not ok.. for example you toast the gluten free bread with the regular bread and sitting in the crumbs... thereby contaminating it. this is very dangerous for someone who is gluten intolerant.. i myself would feel very uneasy about eating it and actually would definately not eat it. i have also noticed other areas where cross contamination is a problem, and this can be very dangerous. i think the staff really needs to be educated on the matter so that they can understand what it really means and how to deal with it...."

he stared at me with his mouth wide open and speechless.. i answered his question about negative things i noticed the workers doing... but really it pointed the finger back at him and not them... because he is in charge of implementing this rule... they are just doing their jobs..

I also questioned him on his use of HACCP and he couldn't really answer me there either... (how does he expect to pass the "big inspection?")

not sure what he thinks now.. it's like a little tug of war... i am relentless and sly i decided... he's gonna be sneaky and fake with me... i do it back...

oh and i smile sweetly and look super concerned the whole time.
