Fabric shopping here is very different from fabric shopping in the US (or at least the DC area). the clerks here follow you around. At first I thought it was because they were afraid of shoplifting (what, I'm going to pocket a bolt?). Turns out that they are there to cut fabric as soon as you want it. This is SO different from when I had to wait forever for a clerk to deign to show up at the cutting table.
I wanted black organza/taffetta ruffle trim for Rukia's Lukia Cromwell dress, but it seems that black is very hard to find in notions stores here. Mostly because notions stores here are better defined as wedding supply stores - and so black, being associated with death, is generally unwelcome. I was only able to find black trim in ONE shop from the four I went to, and even then it was messed-with black, as in there was gold and silver glittery stuff all over it.^^; I guess I'll have make ruffles the old-fashioned way. Pity the loligoth wannabes.
was surprised, the Tower Records here has a fair selection of Japanese imports, but only the mainstream J-poppers. which is to say, they had Kinki Kids, Hide, L'arc, Hikki, V6, Gospellers, but not H&MC and Orange Range. No WaT.;_; Not even Maaya! I ended up picking up V6's Very Best II collection (
42detsune, your influence is wearing off on meXD) - it was decently priced and has Feel Your Breeze on it.^^ I actually picked up their Jack in the Box on a whim hours before I left Tokyo in January, and ...to be honest, I only liked maybe 1/3 of the tracks. still, I liked FYB enough to get this one. Oh, and it comes with Chinese lyric translations! I don't know why Warner/Avex seems to think that only people who know Chinese would be interested in V6.XD
:edit: astute observation from Tycho:
The universe will not be altered by forum threads, even those which are very wry.
