[playlog] Skyward Sword - oh my heart
D:! GAME Y U MUST BREAK MY HEART?!
so Link finally got the 3rd Sacred Flame and is officially carying the Master Sword.
And then he went for the long awaited reunion with Zelda BUT
...first he had to face down Ghirahim. again.D:
Well Link got through that without dying, at least.
AND THEN
ANOTHER battle with the Imprisoned who seems to be becoming increasingly less so
AND FINALLY
Link got through the Gate of Time to meet Zelda BUT
DENIED, AGAIN!DX
that was... so heartwrenching. Poor Link. bad enough that the girl that he loves was torn away from him, but now it turns out she's an ancient goddess who says she was just using him?
And poor Zelda. She was just a normal girl in love until all this happened. She seemed like she was trying too hard to get Link to ... not care so much about her? Or maybe that was the Goddess Hylia talking. But that was definitely Zelda apologizing. She seemed to be trying to convince Link and herself that she was Hylia... until the end of her exposition, when Zelda came out again to ask Link to come and wake her up.
That has to be the closest I've been to crying over a video game since Shadow of the Colossus. It feels even further from a happy ending than it was before...Poor Link. I feel really bad for Link after everything I put him through, the unnecessary falls from great heights and lava spills, running in circles, backtracking, etc. I'll try harder to be a good player, Link! D:
