Featured Submission Q&A: Gonads and Strife by Flaming Moth of Doom
Hi folks!
I was surprised and pleased when one of my stories, "Gonads and Strife," was chosen as a Featured Submission at H&V. I wrote that story a couple of years ago, mostly on a whim -- it started as a one-shot and grew extra heads and tentacles from there. Frankly, it's something of a crackfic (a very long one), and pretty self-indulgent. Still, I'm glad that people seem to enjoy it!
Since this month's theme is Ginny as "favorite supporting character," I suppose I should mention that to me, in the books Ginny comes across as that sort of sporty, pretty, popular girl that you'd probably hate if you didn't like her so much. I think that she and Hermione would have been close; it's mentioned in Dumbledore's funeral scene that she's said something to Hermione about Harry's previous inability to notice her all those years. Therefore, in my story I decided to write Ginny as Hermione's cheering squad, so to speak, as Hermione tries to deal with the shock and awe of having boffed Draco and liked it :)
