I am so honored and surprised to be Hawthorn and Vine’s Featured Member for April 2013! Thank you so much to those who nominated and voted for me. Hawthorn and Vine is a truly wonderful community of readers, artists, writers and Dramione fans - so this is just incredible.

So then, a bit about me and my writing... )
I don't mind that question at all - but I don't know if I have a good answer. I wish I could remember the transition from reading HP books and reading my first fanfiction. I think it must have been while cruising around Mugglenet.com? As near as I can tell, I found some Dramione and liked it. Then I thought - I could do that.
As stated above, I had a difficult time finishing any original projects. I would become a self-defeating perfectionist - which means I would edit Chapter 1 to death as a way to avoid Chapter 2. I did this until I would give up on projects and move onto something else - or bounce between writing and art, writing and art - never finishing any writing. I also never shared my writing with anyone or got any feedback, positive or negative. Fanfiction changed that. I really was scared the first time I sent something off to a beta. Now, I do it at the drop of a hat. External deadlines make me finish stories, for whatever reason, and positive comments make me want to do it again!
So, I can't answer "Why Harry Potter?" but I think I can answer "Why fan fiction?" (Although I suspect "Why Harry Potter" has something to do with the incredibly rich world that JK Rowling created, magic and my strong identification with good vs. evil stories.)
The Villain!!! Are you close? No, not Fenrir. But you get to take this lovely toaster home as your parting gift! (Hint - read Denial's post below).
Fenrir is creepy, isn't he? Why babies? Well, in his defense, I'm sure they're very tender.
