Lots of Business!

Firstly, Happy Dramione Anniversary, everyone! Ten years, we're no joke. In case you've been missing it on the archive, we've had a few events to celebrate. We've released a new skin titled Anniversary, featuring art by Honey-Bee, ponekad, aeasel, riptey, and leopion. Also, new individual skins have been released from the anniversary art -- Patrol with art by ponekad, Potions Accident with art by Honey-Bee, Time Turner with art by leopion -- with two more to follow in the remainder of the month. Do check them out through the skins drop-down menu at the archive!

We've also been posting submissions from A Decade Later, our anniversary challenge. We have an anniversary box on the homepage featuring current events happening at other Dramione communities. Also, we have an egg hunt going down for the next two weeks with lots of fun gifs. ;)

Nominations for the Featured of June are open, so go nom! This month we're introducing Featured themes -- June is art. Read more at the nominations page for info.

H&V is looking for a few new validators! Very basically, a validator is a staff member who reads through submissions in the archive's queue, and checks them for errors in spelling, punctuation, grammar, dialogue, canon capitalization/spelling, and the proper rating and tags (warnings, timeline, category, etc). To give a quick explanation of our workings, our validation staff is set up in three groups. We have Team A and Team B (very creative, we know), each team made up of four people who are assigned a specific rating (with K/PT and T/MT combined). These teams alternate every other week, with a week that they're working the queue being called an on-week. The last group is our Floats, who are only asked to validate if one of the members on a Team is unable to validate during their on-week. They may be asked to take over for this person for a week, or to take over for them for a significant period of time, validating every other week. Right now we are looking for Floats and one person for a Team who would be validating K/PT.

If you are interested in being a Float, keep in mind that you may be asked to cover any rating. That's not a requirement, but you should at least be able to validate up to M.

Requirements

+You must be PI-certified or have scored 85% or higher on the H&V Beta Test. If you have not taken the test, you can by going here -- make sure to put that it is only for the purpose of our staff position. You only need to correct the scene.
+Unless you are applying for the Team position, have as few squicks as possible. You may be asked to validate MA, and very little is excluded from that rating.
+Make sure that you have the time, normally, to work as a validator. You should be able to validate at least two chapters a day, with word count ranging, on average, between 500 to 6,000 words. No chapter should be in the queue for more than three days, and it should be less than that if there weren't a lot of chapters submitted before it.
+You must agree to the staff rules, which you will be given if you reach the second step in the application process.

While we like for our amazing validators to have fun while being part of the staff, you should keep in mind that this is a job. Not all of the submissions are going to be to your liking, there are rules and guidelines, and it's not always easy. Please only apply if you're serious about dedicating yourself as a staff member, because it's not fun business with anyone wasting anyone's time. ;) It's true that Floats can go months without being put on rotation, but when you're on, we expect the same from you as any other validator.

On an end note to the srs bsn, I promise we won't freak out if you make a mistake, or try to virtually beat you at any point. ;) Unless you want us to, but you would have to bribe us with enough Nutella, wine and/or whiskey, and sexy Arthur pics for the whole staff. Just saying.
