I am a chronic procrastinator. Sometimes. When it comes to something that takes a LOT of brain power, I'm terrible.
I am attempting to get a position back east in Washington DC. Yes, I am crazy. But, if I get the position I am applying for, I'll get GS-13 next August (which I'll get anyway no matter where I am, so long as I don't kill anyone unnecessarily), then GS-14 the August after that. That's a hefty pay raise in a short amount of time. GS-14 at age 31. Not too shabby. Aside from the money, I do have other motivations. One of which is 'normal' living conditions. This whole live-in-a-shoebox-with-coin-laundry-and-no-furniture business reached beyond annoying levels awhile ago. I am looking forward to having a residence of more than 700sqft and indoor laundry that I don't have search and scrounge for quarters to use. A basement would be lovely too :D Can anyone say Home Theater!
However to make this move, I have to apply for a position. And since its the government, it's not easy. I have to write what is basically 2 separate KSAs for 5 core competencies. Ouch. It's ridiculously hard to write that way about yourself. I would be much happier if I could write: "I am the bomb diggity. I am super smart, I can do anything and everything, and if you don't take me for the position, you suck. The end." This is what I am procrastinating on.
Yes, I said Bomb Diggity. I just downloaded Snoop's Doggystyle. I needed some old skool jamz for my drive home next week.
