Contract ended, client thrilled and wants me back ASAP. Yay
As I had expected, the stress and load increased right up to the final day, and I ended in a state of major burnout. Downtime was - and still is - desperately needed. Hubby and I scheduled a get-away-for-a-while trip with ff miles and points about a month prior, and prepaid the credit card so we did not come home to a big bill.
The day after the job ended, lightning hit and fried - literally fused bits - the house comms.
The next day we left on vacation. Fried electronics were not delaying the trip, and the house itself did not seem to be damaged.
I'm writing this from Hawaii, on my cell phone browser (and cussing the keyboard), where so far every place we've been at had nonfunctional internet access. Gorgeous here but oh so disney. And hideously expensive.
When I get home I'll be unemployed and internet-less. But right now I'm happy to just veg and look at spinners just offshore from the hotel room balcony aka lanai. I need this downtime very badly, and husband was right when he said if I'd stayed at home I would have just dived into stressing over house projects. Love my man :)
This is either our 29.5 anniversary or the honeymoon we never had due to elopement and secret wedding. It is grand.
That's the last three or so weeks summarized.
