Indoor birding
Looks like we have about 2" of snow covering the ice ... it's soooo pretty outside. Sooooo slick.
I opened the garage door this morning to find an explosion of little birds in the garage itself. A flock of juncos had hopped in through the gap under the outside door and then overnighted in the garage. Husband's beloved little red car was dotted with bird poops from where they had roosted on the garage door opener fixtures.
The birds were shoo'd outside, and then a cup of birdseed tossed out onto the parking pad for them as compensation. The seed kept them hopping around outside the windows for over an hour, providing entertainment for the cats. Then an immature female Cooper's Hawk decided to stop by the junco buffet, and after a few unsuccessful attacks by her, the juncos decided to forage elsewhere.
It's very pretty outside. Very cold, windy, and a wet cold. I'm ready for Spring next week.
