Hire me!
Oh well, it's official. Back on the streets as of May 2nd -- the uber-closed-door boss doesn't have any open positions for a contractor once I roll off the current project.
So, anyone want to hire me? Resume is ready to go, just send an email addy :)
A couple of my previous bosses at this place are scrambling to try and grab me for their open contractor positions. The obstacles are purely bureaucratic and red tape: internal HR policies on contractor rollover and advertising new slots to the contracting companies.
It's very gratifying and validating to have someone say they want *me*, specifically -- "don't even advertise the position, if we can get her get HER". I'm not just headcount for someone's empire-building. That's one of the few bright spots to recall after a string of HR black-holes and brush-offs from other companies.
So now I have managers pulling strings and playing politics to get *me* ... why can't they work for some other company, and be offering a good salaried position?
This week I'm two hours over coming into today, so I already had time built into the schedule to take a long lunch and long break -- off the clock, of course -- to take care of personal stuff like job hunting.
