Today, the barony and surrounding areas came together in Caldwell Park, to have a Demo-and we get to do it next Sunday, too! This is all in conjuction with the Samford Theater's production of "Camalot". Yes, the musical play, not the movie.
Sir Rodger even joined us from South Downs! it was good to see our own Super Knight out on the field, cape and all. *GRIN*
There were about a dozen Sword and Boards out there, including two ladies that are New to the Sport. From what I could see, they will do well, as long as their training is done properly.
Everyone needs to read the Iron Rose. Truely, they do. Her Grace knows what she is talking about.
I didn't get any fencing in-I spent most of the time helping Sara out with Cecilia and Kate, two enthusiastic 2 year-old sisters intent on meeting everyone, up close and personal. They were such sweet girls, even with their poor, neglected past. Sara adopted them and this was their first real outing into the cold world of other humans, and DOGS. There were dogs of all sizes, from the tiny mexicans to the massive Chocolate NewFoundland, a sweet girl named Hershey. (Creative, these dog owners)
Cecelia and Kate did have a small problem that wasn't really a problem. They are quick learners. They learned that long skirts are great places to hide, and that socks are perfect for climbing.
And pants legs and coat arm opening are just absolutely wonderful places to inspect and show love!
Did I mention that the two sisters are small brown ferrets?
So, I have had ferrets whiskering my ears, nosing through my hair, twirling around my neck, up my pants leg, rolling up in my skirts...oh, I had fun!
And when Cecilia hissed and bit the inquistive Great Dane on the nose...I had to laugh at the absurdity of it. Little weasel, all of a foot long, taking on a full grown massive Great Dane.
Gotta love it!
