(no subject)
So I got to work and went to turn my phone on (I don't usually leave it on overnight), only to find that not only had I forgotten to turn it off last night, but I'd forgotten to turn the sound back on after work. I'm a moron. So I have a couple messages, which is nice. Not this time though. One was a really upsetting call from my lover from last night and I feel awful because I didn't notice it til now and now I'm at work and can't talk to her :( The other was from some foreign lady, she sounded Indian. But about the only things I could understand were "accident," "stitches," and "I don't know who this is"....the rest was seriously gibberish. She called my phone at 6:28 am and then called back at 6:32 to leave the crazy message. Soooo, I don't know about that. And it was a 319 area code but not a number I recognize. I hate when that happens, it makes me curious allll freakin' day.
Umm, we got MORE snow last night, about another 3-4 inches, and it was still doing something this morning when I went to work. Walking from my car it felt like little needles hitting my face. Not fun. Thankfully, it's above freezing so it won't turn to a sheet of ice on the road. Unless the temp. plummets throughout the day, then we're all fucked, lol. What's annoying is that, in the 8 years I spent in the Iowa City Community School District, I can probably count on two hands the number of snow days we had. Seriously, when there were 3 inches of ice on the road, we had school...when there were 2 feet of snow, we had school. I get to work this morning only to hear parents talking about how IC schools are closed. WTF? I had no trouble getting to work today. The roads by my house were still a little snow-covered, but definitely driveable....once I got onto a main road it was just wet with a little bit of slush. Nothing a big-ass bus couldn't handle! C'mon, get the kids to school! For the love of God, they need to learn!
My friend Molly had a baby girl Sunday night!! Her name is Ashlyn Grey....sooo adorable, no? I can't wait to see her! Aaand, that gives me an excuse to go buy cute little baby things, lol! I only hope my friend Dani has a girl. They're so much more fun to buy for. And why is everyone I know getting married and having babies?? Makes me feel old. And I don't like it. Make it stop. Now.
