Right.
Yesterday was brilliant. Dark Arts, Runes, Spellwriting, and Muggle Studies (which isn't so brilliant, but An promises we'll be studying music later in the year, so I'm willing to bide my time and pretend I don't know what a phone booth does).
Today was middling. We had Charms with Hufflepuff, which will be unbearable for the rest of the year, but today was almost sublime, as Gilderoy was making sure everyone would be at the duel. He took a list of names. Alice 'accidentally' hexed him (well done, Prewett). I almost laughed. OUT LOUD. Unfortunately, the general mood of the classroom is bound to decline a little after the funeral. I hope it will pass; House loyalty has to give way to common sense, and the world wil not miss Lockhart, except perhaps his tailor.
The rest of the week slides rapidy downhill.
Severus, I forgot to ask you in History of Magic, and I was a little...distracted in Astronomy, but I was wondering if you had spare time for a hopeless case. I have to be able to describe the sequence of ingredients for a Soul-Soothing Salve, and at this point I think I only have some kind of cataract creme.
Right. Off to hover in the common room until the bottle-feeding first years piss off, and An and Ted and I can actually hold a multisyllabic conversation.
