Fire!!!!

Happy Birthday America! And what better way to celebrate then to set the whole neighborhood on fire? Once again the time is here for my father's annual blow out. Every 4th of the July the man stands outside, looks up at the sky, and curses our neighbors. He thinks that by some crazy mishap, one of these years our house will go up in flames due to a falling ember. He turns on the sprinklers and fully saturates the lawn until hes sure the neighbors have had their fill of pyrotechnics. Its very funny. The man rants and raves about how unsafe and incredibly stupid they are-about how the whole neighborhood will light up in a firey blaze and we'll all have to live in hotels until we can find new places to live. He loves it though. Makes him feel like part of the show. I don't really see what the big deal is. If anyones house is set on fire it will be the homes of those lighting up the sky, not us. And honestly-who doesn't like standing around their block watching a house go up in flames? It makes good tv doesn't it? And what better way to end a drunken, danger-filled evening?

I spent my holiday hanging around the house and grocery shopping. Yes I know-I'm a maniac. But unlike the neighbors I don't have a huge hillbilly family to come get plastered with. No its just me and the pets and the moms chillin out watching reruns on Nick at Nite. But damn if it don't feel good to have nothing to do...

So I'm not going to Arizona. My manager's wife got sick and can't fly so they aren't going at all. I was distraught about it for awhile but this way I'll be able to start saving some money for the upcoming school year so in a way it was a good-bad thing.

Anyways. So I saw Def Leppard last night with the moms and boy howdy did we ever have ourselves a good time! Bryan Adams was also along for the tour and he looked unbelievable! I'm talking hott my friends! The one odd thing though was that every member of his band was dressed alike. Same black shirt, same dark levis, even the same black boots. Very strange but who gives a shit they kicked ass! His lead guitar player was amazing, he could give the boys from Metallica a run for their money-kid was shredding! It was so cute too because Bryan was looking over at him during his solos like yeah, I know that guy. Then the love our lives stepped on to the stage... Good god was it awesome. Better then last year and I'm not just saying that because we were fifty times closer-yeah about 8 feet away-no they were just incredible! We made friends with some people who were standing by us and at one point this guy asked me to hold his beer so he could roll a joint. Oh the concert bonding between super fans... Haha. But yeah, good night.

Onto another subject. My car is a rolling death trap apparently. My friend Dave from work looked at my tires the other day and nearly shit himself. I guess the front tires are a little bald?.. Okay, they are smooth, no tred at all. He totally scolded me and, it looks like, will continue to do so until I get them replaced. My windshield wipers just crapped out on me too so hopefully there won't be any heavy storms in store before I can get that worked out. My check engine light is also on-again! I have to get that fixed before I go for my emissions because according to Dave thats an automatic failure. So I have to get the light turned off and whatever problem that caused the light to turn on fixed. I also need new headlights (the brights don't do anything!) and it looks like they may not be able to replace them without fixing my fucked up fender which can't be fixed unless my fucked up door is fixed too. Shit. Who knew something like a one ton automobile would be so expensive? Sigh.. Well I'm going to talk to the mechanics at my mom's shop to see what kind of estimate I can get and a time table for when it can all be taken care of. The issue with that is they don't really handle Fords so it'll take awhile and since its for my mom they don't view it as "priority" so if they get bombarded with work they'll push my problems to the side... Grr. Can't I just be rich and famous already so I won't have to worry about this kind of crap?

I'm missing Ben terribly. I wrote him a letter last week and have been thinking about writing him again but I don't want to get crazy. Its just that throughout my day I think of things to tell him or something reminds me of him and I want to call him up. But no, kid just has to be away for seven weeks. Luckily I have Katie to chat with and the kids from work to talk to every now and then when I'm home. I have a pretty full work week too so that should keep me busy. We'll just have to see. One week down-six to go....
