I just re-watched the Perks of Being a Wallflower and it is soso good.
It is so honest to what it's really like to be a teenager. And it made me feel so very lucky. Lucky to have had such good friends in high school. Lucky to have had good relationships, to have never been cheated on or abused. Lucky to have a good family.
We went back to Reno last weekend, and even though I've been here in Utah for almost 10 years now, Reno will never not be my home. There is something about that drive through the desert, the canyon opening into the valley, the casinos and the neon lights, the river and the hills, that will always be in my heart. For such a seedy little mountain town, it has sure left an impression. It's the people of course, but also the landscape. And the streets we cruised, and the parks we hung out in, and my friends' old houses. The schools and the cafes. I couldn't have asked for a better up-bringing.
