Danny's Ethnicity

Has Danny's ethnic background ever been directly addressed on the show? I'm thinking a combination of Irish and Italian, but the only actual tie to Italian is his intense feelings about what goes on his pizza (which could just be a NJ thing more so than an indication *he's* Italian) and his parents having their first date in an Italian restaurant.

I think Irish is a good guess, especially after seeing Danny's parents. I'd really like to meet his sisters, too.
