Steve jumped at the chance to join 5-0? I had no idea that turning the governor down cold meant "jumping at the chance." Retcon much?

Seriously. If Freddie was this important to Steve all along, why did we never hear of him until season 3? And why wait almost a year to show us Steve having nightmares about his death? And while we're at it, why is Steve calling Grover to talk about it instead of Danny, or Catherine, or Joe White?

I've been baffled by choices the show runners have made since the S1 finale, but none so much as this year. They often don't make sense, honestly, but I'm becoming seriously bugged about the direction things are going. Grover's fine as an ancillary character, but he's getting more time than Chin and Kono and more development than them as well.

And it just doesn't compute.
