Update

I'm working for EVS in Memphis as a System Engineer (mainly Linux), thanks to dreamsofxion. The first driver we hired worked out for about two months, then quit after wrecking the truck for the second time.  The second driver we hired never got to run, as Swift took so long coding him that they cancelled the carrier contract and then, the lease.  So, I don't have a truck anymore.  To add insult to injury, they're now suing me for $28,800 - and threatening to garnish 75% of my wages.

Luckily, I work for a cool company.  My manager persuaded me to go to the CEO and retell the tale.  The CEO listened to my situation, and referred me to her personal lawyer.  He's taking the case - and that's about all I'm comfortable saying right now, but it's better than it was a week ago when they were calling me at work every 2 hours.

Jessa has been looking for work, but pickins are slim, as they say.  We moved into a house in southeast Memphis - the Hickory Hill area - and are enjoying it quite a bit; the first month's rent was paid in trade for labor, and it was muchly needed.  Bills are stacking up right now, though, and work swears I'll get a raise as soon as the company is profitable, which should be next month...  but who knows.  It's tight, but we're eating a lot of from-scratch foods and not eating out, so we're scraping by.

I have gotten to see the boys a lot, though.  I finally feel comfortable with having them around, since we're not living with my mother and her dogs...  this was one of the goals I set a long time ago, to have a place I wasn't ashamed of having my boys in.

Anyways, that's the update. I'm working (and enjoying it), Jessa's looking (and playing housekeeper in the meantime), we has a pad, and the boys are getting to know me, finally. :)
