Sometimes you find a kindred spirit in the most unexpected places

We were discussing That Guy in the crit group, because. Well. He is That Guy and honest to fuck, I've had one run-in with him already, but I was being nice with my first crit. I've already warned her the gloves are coming off for future crits. (Does every. single. place. have That Fucking Guy?) He's only one That Guy, at least, instead of a table full of Those Guys.

But anyway! She not only delightedly discovered that I had read and enjoyed PN Elrod's novels (we both like vampires), I also knew Blake's 7, and that I was one of the rare folks she's run across that has seen and adores Forever Knight.

I did gush at her about Catherine Disher because. I mean. Natalie. Obviously.

Oh, if only she knew. She's not in fandom, to my knowledge. But the writing/fandom crossover is strong, so maybe she's got another pseud, because she's in the crit group under a pseud already. I think. I've betaread a few things for her; apparently she's one of the people that says "will you do a logic edit for me" at me and appreciates when I spend five hours picking apart her chapter and sending it back to her. (Thank God.)

Then encouraged her to put Slings and Arrows on her to-watch list, which. She's heard of it, but it's hard to find in streaming. If you don't have an AcornTV subscription, that is, which I don't, so I have it on DVD. Not just for Ger's season, but because it's brilliant!

But I do have an entire FK actor rec list to unleash, mind you. This entry has been cross-posted to Dreamwidth (
